Long story short my friend wrecked his clean 97 caddy on the freeway. Front tire blew out and he hit a wall... He's fine thank goodness. (I'm freakin mad a my friends for letting him drive all buzzed out:evil: I wasent there) I dont know the extent of the damage but he said he's just going to junk it for $200 or so.

So can I stuff that motor and tranny in my 5th gen or my 2nd gen If it fit's in one it will in the othere, right? Can I reuse the the seats power door looks and windows in my 78 or 68??? What can I do with it if I buy it??

If nothing else you can part it out and make some good change. If the 97 is front wheel drive I'd say your gonna have a heck of a time but nothing is impossible. It just depends on the amount of work you are willing to put into it. Personally I'd part it out and buy something that fits easier and makes more power.

so you have a 78, a 68, and a 2nd gen damn i wish i had 3 caminos :poke:

haha done messin with ya, i would pick it up and part it out. the seats should work in the camino if they are buckets, the bench will be a bit too wide i believe. what motor is it, and you might be able to use the motor(the caddy 4.6 is a very good motor) and what model is the caddy? some were fwd and some were rwd in 97. i would buy it for $200 no problem and part out what u can use then make your money and some back from wehat u cant use.

They stopped making the fleetwood in 96. No cadillac sedans were RWD in 97.

Parting it out ios the way to go if you want to make a few bucks here and there. You can try to put the motor in your El Camino, but it would need a lot of mods. It is all your choice so whatever you want to do.

I am sure you can part it out and make some change with a little bit of work, but to put the value in perspective, I just bought a `96 Deville with new tires that runs and drives for $300. Surprisingly enough the interior and the body are in great shape except for a tear in the driver's seat, and a small dent in the rear passenger door.

If you have the room and the time, Parting it out would give you some change, but it's also work.
You will be the one in most cases striping it, mailing the parts, listing it. AND REST ASSURED, it
won't happen over night. Give it some thought, before you jump into it, is IT really something you
want to get involved with?

I've got a '97 Caddy, and I'll tell you one thing, those taillights are highly sought after $$$. I'm always being asked if I want to sell my taillights..... yeah right bud, hold on, I'll take em right out for ya. The motor is a NorthStar, I forget the cubes right now. Don't know if it would swap out or not, but is a great motor. Pulls that barge around quite well. It is FWD.

While you're considering all the other advice that has been offered, please think about if you really have the space to have a small salvage yard around your place. You already have the 68 stored. Just another though. Good Luck which ever way you decide to go my friend!..............Ken  (Root Beer)
