Currently running four Dunlop Gt Qualifier 235/60 14's.Need to replace the front. Went to Discount, Evans,Big O etc. Besides being hustled by prodessional con men I found this size tire is now rare. Most claim BFG TA's are about it. Other than scrounging around on Craigslist for used tires has anyone out there bought a similar tire recently. If so did you do it over the internet(never done it myself) or do you know a source for same type tires. Thanks to all past help I have gotten. Merry Christmas to call NECOA brothers and sisters.Brian Boru

Try Tirerack.com?
Also, try some of the discount warehouses (Sam's club, Benny's, BJs, Wal Mart etc in my area).
Also, if memory serves me well, several years ago my daughter was able to get me some big meats for my 69 C-10 from (or through) Carquest.
Good luck.

Mnumm, Roger that. Thanks for the imput. Will start looking where you suggested. Saw a place on the internet for a local car dealer claiming to have all kinds of extra socks(trade-ins?),but smells like a come on. The first place I went to here had an ad for 215/70 ,all four tires for 90.00. When I got the out the door price these bargain basement tires were 300.00. The ad said 90.00 plus 12.00 each to install.I said that dosent ad up. The guy shrugged and I walked.Thanks. Brian Boru

It's one of the reasons I switched to 15's and even that's getting harder to find a decent size in. Pretty much the same story with brands too. Either BFG or Road Huggers (Kelley or Goodyerar makes them)
I'm thinking my next wheel/tire combo is going to be a 17 with a lower profile to keep the same tire/wheel height.

Tire raco is were I would go. If they do not have it they can tell you were to get it. They did that with my mom when she was looking for mini cooper run flats

Just got off the phone with local Discount Tire guy. I took all suggestions and started shopping internet. One site had 235/60 14s for 75.44 per tire. I noticed on the Discount Tire site a bar to click if you find a cheaper quote. I took a gamble and e mailed . The site said someone would call back in 24 hours to consider the quote. I didnt place much hope in the whole deal as I have always gotten into a horse trading situation when getting tires. To my surprise the local shop called in an hour an offered to beat the low price I found. They said they would order the tires and call when they arrived. Hope this works out. Wanted the BFGs from the gitgo and now it seems I can afford them. Merry Christmas to all.Brian Boru

Spend the extra couple of bucks on the road hazard warranty. Discount is really good about handling that and they'll do free rotations for the life of the tire. They're also really good about factory defects. I had a set of Yokohama's on my old 96 Camaro that they replaced for free (no charge on mount or balance either) because they started splitting on the sidewall at 12K miles.

Don't go to Sams Club or Walmart. We've had dozens of customers in the last year that did. Those tires develop flat spots after about a year/8K miles.
Try S&S Tire. They are nationan-wide wholesalers. Go to S&S.com, find your local dealer. I know they have this size.
