I am looking for a used 200r4 trans to fit my 85' el camino. I am trying to find one for a good price, somewhere near delaware. I am looking for something that isnt too beat up.

Have you checked with some of the local rebuild shops? Sometimes you can get a deal on one that someone had rebuilt or repaired and either couldn't pay for or just never came back!
I got TH 350 like that one time just for the price of the repair!

Give craigslist a test drive. Unfortunately, you may get a decent one or a crappy one. I've picked up two, both for under $75. I picked up the first that was, "in good shape" (per the owner) but unknown miles on it. He was interested in the motor, so sold me the trans. The second one was from an 88 SS monte carlo, with 80K (so the owner said). He swaped in a BB, and the pulled the 200R4 before the swap.

There was one more listed for $50, that I actually contemplated picking up just in case. It was listed for $50, why not?

The first two had everything on them (TC, cables and dip stick tube). For $75, I figured I'd try em and see what works. Worse case, I'll see if I can rebuild one. The last one had everything but the TC.

You might want to try Friendship Auto Salvage in Tabernacle, NJ it's an hour drive from where we live. They have rebuilt as well as used. They are on New Road off Route 70. Give them call at 609.268.0365
