: Importance of early registration
LeoC2 01-14-2010, 11:45 AM Folks, as you can see by several threads here on the forums we've been pushing you to pre-register for Carlisle as soon as possible. There are several reasons why this is so important:
- The more pre-registrations we have the better space and the more room we get. My Lincoln club last year had only 15 pre-registrations but 65+ cars came, it was a horror story due to lack of space. So if you know you're coming, register NOW. The more pre-registers we get the more ammunition I have to negotiate space with the Carlisle people.
- Pre-registrations count for 95% of the decision as to what classes to assign, they go a bit by the previous year but very little. If we want all five classes like last year... pre-register now!
- You MUST pre-register and use the pull down menu naming NECOA as your car club. If we get 25 pre-registers we get a 25x25 foot tent for FREE!
- This applies to NECOA awards ONLY: To qualify for a NECOA award and to receive votes the vehicle MUST have been registered with Carlisle as a member of NECOA. The NECOA name MUST appear on your registration placard that is given to the vehicle upon registration. Any winning vehicle NOT registered naming NECOA as the club will be disqualified. (This does not apply to the Carlisle awards, that is separate.)

Tuggy24g 01-16-2010, 09:50 PM OK thanks VAFLASH (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/member.php?u=14686)! Everyone else please do so too!
Tuggy24g 01-20-2010, 08:31 AM Time is getting closer! Make sure you preregister ASAP! Before you know that time will be right upon us and you will not of preregistered.
Tuggy24g 01-23-2010, 08:28 AM The meet is getting ever so close and the sooner you preregister the more good you will be helping EL Camino central in a ton of ways. You will be supporting us and showing how big of a community we are, Helping us get a bigger parking spot so we do not have to all squeeze into a spot only made for 25 cars and we have 40. That would not be fun at all. Also we will have a big tent to hang out in and we can all chat inside. So even if you do not if your going or not please preregister anyway so you know you will be helping this community plus helping get us all the kudos points. So lets me 2010 better then 2009!

LeoC2 03-08-2010, 02:58 PM This just in from Carlisle: "NEW FOR 2010 - If you register by May 24th, we will mail your window sticker to your address of record 3-4 weeks before the show. When you get to the show, enjoy the VIP treatment of driving straight to Gate 3."
This means that when you register online or by phone you register in our class and they send you all documents so you don't have to stop at the gate and pick anything up. Just drive on in! :nanawrench:
sandblaster 03-08-2010, 05:18 PM Thanks on the heads up Leo. Just signed up over the weekend.:You_Rock:
Tuggy24g 03-08-2010, 06:21 PM Cool man. GLade to see another region 3 member going :) and glade they are going to give preregistered members the VIP treatment
LeoC2 03-08-2010, 10:08 PM ADDITIONAL INFO: For those of us who pre-registered before they added the ability to register in our proper class... all you need do is call customer service at 717-243-7855 and have them update your registration and you're all set. You'll then get your registration packet mailed to you.
Tuggy24g 03-08-2010, 10:20 PM Thanks for the heads up. I think it is silly for them not to do that once they allowed preregistration from the beginning. Just seems like it would of made life so much easier from the start.
Pa-elker 03-24-2010, 08:03 AM hey Leo, getting ready to pre-register and was just wondering if we are gonna be in the same location as last year? not sure if i can make it this year, have a huge project at work going on , which i am in charge of, planning for the best though, thats why i'm pre registering anyway. had a great time last year, cant wait to see you all there.:nanawrench:
Tuggy24g 03-24-2010, 08:21 AM We will be in the same fairgrounds, but I do not think we will be in the same location as last year. I just hope we get put into a spot where more people will see us.
LeoC2 03-24-2010, 09:13 AM hey Leo, getting ready to pre-register and was just wondering if we are gonna be in the same location as last year?...
We're working on that now and most likely we are but a lot depends on pre-registrations. If we're not in the same location we'll be close by. I'm working to get the Elkys and the tent in the same location and not so far apart this time.
...I do not think we will be in the same location as last year. I just hope we get put into a spot where more people will see us.
Tuggy.... do you know something I don't? And what makes you think people didn't see us last year?
Tuggy24g 03-24-2010, 09:52 AM Well we were all the way in the front of the show field right next to the hill. There was basically not many cars close to us beside the few behind me. So you really had to walk kind of out of the way to see us. I am fine no matter where we are, but just that I like to be closer to more cars so more people will walk by us all. Also so we do not have objects in are parking area!

I just remembered the next line of that song.........Oh, well... Glad to hear you'll be joining the team again this year, Wayne. Steve (Mister67) will be there with a newly repainted cruck, Jim (Quintonsdusty) will be there with his EZ up (or, portable shower. It just depends on how you look at it?), and I'll be there with an EZ up also. I just pre-registered a couple of days ago. SOOO, Let the wind and rain come - we can handle it!..............Ken  :texas:

lol maybe you can Ken http://www.scaldinghot.com/Boardpics/nodder.gif...I remember last year after putting my car away running down the hill to grap my EZ-Up before the wind took it away and took a big digger I thought I split my head open...http://www.scaldinghot.com/Boardpics/hahaha.gif http://www.scaldinghot.com/Boardpics/banghead.gif http://www.scaldinghot.com/Boardpics/stick.gif http://www.scaldinghot.com/Boardpics/bangin.gif http://www.scaldinghot.com/Boardpics/laughoutloud.gif

You've completely lost me on this Tuggy, Objects? Nobody near us? In any case, regarding where we'll be, it's best not to make statements about the show without first hand knowledge, especially when the question was directed to me. It just serves to confuse people..
Tuggy24g 03-24-2010, 11:57 AM the object I was talking about was when you were trying to help park the 3rd,2nd and 1st gen El Camino. There was a box covered so no one could access it. It took up space and you had to park some people sideways next to it. That is what I was referring to. Second I am not trying to slam you at all. I been trying to help you out by letting people know to preregister and such. I even have in my sig about the show. I was just saying since we are one of the top groups of people going to be there I feel like we should be put more in the middle of the action and not just away from everything. I am fine no matter where we are set up and as long as I am next to all my EL Camino/ECC buddies I am happy with that.
LeoC2 03-24-2010, 06:41 PM Just got the report, as of today 3/24 there are 10 El Caminos pre-registered all NECOA. Come on folks, let's get those numbers up!
Tuggy24g 03-25-2010, 07:22 AM When I heard we were the top three preregistered club I was happy, but 10 does not seem like we are. I am a little disappointed guy. Come on and get preregistering!!!!!!!!

Now that you mention that, I remember one of the group exclaiming "Did you see that guy over there? He just got his *UNHUH* busted", or words to that effect. Yeah, Gerry, that could have been tragic! This year, Come On Down to our crew if the sky becomes threatening...........Ken
Tuggy24g 03-27-2010, 08:56 AM Come on guys preregister for the event if your coming is super important!!!!
