anyone here have an idea of the "usual" price of a semi-complete laguna nose...ie; has the grille, but no headlight hardware or mounting stuff. this one is the boxy early gen 4, not the pointy later version.

The headlight capsules are 73-74 Laguna GM part # 5962996. The headlight doors are 73-74 Laguna GM part # 325225 and 325226. I wouldn't let those missing pieces stop me from buying it. You could probably find some later on either at ebay or a swap meet like Hershey or Carlisle.
FYI Just the front fascia (rubber bumper cover) was $454 new from GM back in May '79.

Did you see my post above with part #'s?
Yeah you do need laguna specific according to the parts list. Not sure what the difference is? I would think regular malibu would fit but it might have something to do with the different headlight doors or maybe the position of the adjusting screws and hold down spring.

yes, i did see your post. i also know that just because something has its own part number doesn't mean something else isn't the exact same thing. it isn't beyond any manufacturer to assign different P/Ns to something just because it goes on a more expensive model, when another part from a bargain-basement model does the same thing.
this is why i wondered about how well a fit the assemblies from the others [chevelle, malibu, el camino] would work. this would save me having to go out and buy a bunch of parts only to find out they DON'T work. i have a whole back yard full of "experience" on this.:neutral2:

and since this fascia doesn't come with the headlight stuff, this kinda takes away from its value....one of the reasons i posted this question.:dontknow:
