I've noticed a couple things lately about my steering... First, when I turn the wheel to either extreme, all the way left or all the way right, I get a high pitched squeal... but only then. Second, from time to time (though it's happening more often), when I'm moving very slowly and trying to turn the wheel (best example, when I'm backing out of a parking spot), the steering wheel kind of "sticks" on me... it jerks as it turns... not jerks back and forth, mind you, but well, sticks. Is it as simple as maybe needing some grease, or is there something more to this?

then i would have to agree with canted. try using a bar of soap on the belt and see if it still squeels, if it doesnt you might need a new belt. also(im sure you did this)check the fluid level and for any leaks.

I'm with Canted. REPLACE the belt. Even if you tighten it now when you hit a little water on the highway you will find the old glazed belt will slip and you won't have any power steering for a few seconds until the heat dries it off. Try this. Tighten the belt, start the car and turn it back and forth. Now spray some water on it and try it.
