Welcome to ECC/NECOA Eddie!

Yes, it'll all bolt in. The 87 probably already has the 200-4r OD tranny. If it does I'd stick with it. You'll have to reuse the driveshaft. Are you putting in the MCSS rear end too? (83-85 3.42 / 86-87 3.73) What engine is in the 87 now?

i actually messed up my first post, i just talked to my friend and it is a 1982 el camino. does this make any difference on whether it will bolt right up or not

What year MCSS drivetrain? 83-85 had a TH350, 86-88 had 2004r. If you use a TH350 you can use the existing tranny crossmember. The 2004r uses a different crossmember and you'll have to add an extension to the frame rail. The motor mounts will need to be relocated. And you'll need a bigger radiator.

You're right Tommy, my mistake, the 2004r was offered for the MCSS in 85.
