For those of you that haven't noticed :::::::
Some of El Camino Centrals' TECH Information Articles have LOST, or DELETED information.
For example ---- There is an Article on Differential Gear Ratio Identification that had Tech Information listing ALL Differential ID Codes by year and the Ratio that was Stock for that Differential that was installed by the Factory. WELL---- The attached information to that Article is now gone.
It appears that this is not the Only Tech information MISSING / DELETED, or otherwise GONE, that Members have Posted to assist other Members in their quest to find information, or expand their knowledge of the CLASSIC El Camino.
So for those of you that use the Search Feature to try and obtain some valuable information, that use to be available, you may indeed NOT BE ABLE TO LOCATE THIS INFORMATION.
We as Members, will try to remember this when a Member is asking for Information that may have been discussed many times in the past.
I guess what I'm saying, is, Maybe the SEARCH FEATURE will no longer provide that answer.

The POWERS THAT BE, have been made aware of this unfortunate loss of information that has occurred sense they have acquired, and transfered the Site to Their New Servers. Time will tell, if they will be able to "RESCUE" this lost information or not.
It's a shame to think that all the Hours that Members invested in compiling all this information, could, and may be lost.
AS I've said many times, and I'll say it AGAIN !!
BUT HAY~WHAT DO I KNOW :dontknow:

That stinks :( Well the search feature is not all lost. There are still forums that have been posted that are relevant to some of the questions.

Robert, if you see this, perhaps you can help in this matter?

Leo, They are checking to see what, if anything can be done, SO THEY ARE ON TOP OF THIS. (just an FYI, update)

"It looks like any from before the site was moved to the present server are gone. I'm ( Poltergeist (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/member.php?u=3) ) trying to contact the owner to see if they can fix it. I don't have access to the server to do it myself. Hopefully they will get it fixed the attachments will return."

It has taken some time to try and chase down what happened here, including extensive involvement between Robert and our SysAdmins.

It appears that the attachments being referred to here were in a directory that - for whatever reason - did not transfer over to our server during the transition.

A search of the backups from the site prior to the transition has not found the files either, so we are unable to restore them.

The bottom line is that they are gone.

sounds like a backup of the backups couldn't hurt. :poke:

one thing i've learned from being related to a couple of IT guys (dad & bro) is you can never backup information enough.
