Anyone here ever looked for a stainless exhaust system for the 4th gen Elco ? I've been on a few sites, including Summit, and not much there for the 4th gen cars, which is not unusual I guess.
I see that Pypes has some stainless down pipes (from manifold) that I could use for the header-back pipes, and the universal X pipe kit etc.
Tail pipes are the items I was actually looking for, since the front pipes could be fabricated from the down-pipes etc.

Summit tells me they have no source for stainless tail pipes. Anyone here ever had stainless tubing bent at a muffler shop? Some of those places have the info to bend standard tail pipes on their bender.

Perhaps not, but they can special-order anything that Pypes makes. If you can get the PN from Pypes, you can order it through Summit.

Any Muffler Shop can bend the Stainless Tubing on their bender.
I use to bend it alot at my Shop for Exhaust Systems, and any
good shop should be able to bend it to fit any application, IF
THE MAN KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING, AND CAN OPPERATE
THE BENDER,WITH KNOWLEDGE.
Now then, with that being said, I WOULD NOT just go to any
shop and have it bent. I would look for a shop that has a
Mandrel Bender to have the Stainless Tubing bent. When
doing a Stainless System, it should be all done with Mandrel
bends, it kind of defeats the purpose of a NICE STAINLESS
SYSTEM, to have standard (crushed) bends in the system.

Good thoughts Larry. I'll have to strap my gun on when I go there to make sure they pay attention!! (not really!) Yeah, finding the right place is the key.
