So after a lot of talking, persuading and even more begging, I finally got my wife to let me buy an Elky. Almost immediately, I saw this 1980 Caballero for sale, and I just had to have it.

The link. (http://www.7thgencivic.com/memberrides/showgallery.php?stype=2&si=&cat=500&sort=1&ppuser=284) I'm kinda lazy and don't feel like re-uploading the pictures. And don't ask me why I posted the pictures on a Honda site. What was I thinking that a bunch of import guys could appreciate an Elky.

So anyway, I have barely driven it. Even though I'm from Georgia, I'm in California right now for the next month. I'm not even going to try to get that thing smogged (it's got a 350 in it, and a bunch of stuff missing). So I'm just waiting till I leave here.

I can't even decide what to do to the car first. I know I need a new header since the current one almost has a crack in it. I know I need to get the speedo calibrated. Other than that, I can't decide whether to start on the interior first or do some exterior work.

Have a good day.

Welcome to ECC/NECOA Steven!

Wasn't able to see the pics. So, you found this nice 80 Elky in California, you're going to buy it, drive it all the way to Georgia, and you've convinced your wife this is a good idea? This could be interesting.

Welcome to a great site, Steven. You are right, most Honda guys wouldn't.

http://elcaminocentral.com/users/87ss/wavey.gif Welcome to the group! Your GMC looks pretty clean to me! If your really planning on driving her home, make sure all your mechanicals are funtioning properly first. IE tune-up, make sure your tires, brakes, belts, hoses and fluids are all in good shape.

Welcome to the site. I am pretty new myself.

I live in Augusta, Georgia. Where will you be coming back to?

Well actually, I'm not going to be back in Georgia for another 2 years, but when I do, I'm going to be in Columbus. In two weeks I'm driving my Civic from Cali all the way home to Georgia, then I'm coming back and taking the Cab up to Washington. I'm stationed up there for the next few years (depending on if the Navy wants me or not).

Of course, once I get to Washington, it's going back into store in May until the end of the year. So sad. :-(
