I was browsing craigs list and i found a set of BMW seats from a 3 series and was wondering if they would fit in my el camino? they have the original mounts. i am willing to drill the floor because i know i will have to. i currently have a bench seat. also if i did install these what do you guys think i could get for my bench seat? it is in good+ condition.

I see no reason why the wouldn't fit. If they are super wide or skinnier than our buckets then you will either have a bit of space between where the console goes or they'll be tight against it.

Should fit, though drilling will probably be required.

unless there is someone local that wants one that color... not much. Buckets > bench. I had a good condition blue bench that I tried to give away and after 3 weeks it found its way to curb side.

oh yea, you have a 73. I assume there will be more of a market for a nice black bench seat out of that year opposed to a 5th gen. You should be able to sell it.

I have a 78 Elky and I put in a set of buckets from a 98 Accura. It took some time making the mounts, but they fit great and look great.
Good luck

You can make almost anything work; my 85 has a power split bench from a Cadillac Deville. To make it work, the brackets are chopped lower to the floorpan to get the right height in relation to the 71 Firebird dash. My 79 has Proseat aftermarket buckets on custom brackets to fit in with the 95 Monte Carlo Z34 dash and center console; the steering column and seats both had to move over to the right about an inch or so to fit the dash correctly. It takes time, but whatever look your going for can be made to work in the end
