Hey you guys that need an engine and are looking for a cheaper alternative to crate motors! I found this site www.allautoengines.com You need to click on to "prices" to find the motors they have available.

That LT! long block with aluminum heads for $1950.00 ($1335.00 + $615.00 core charge) sounds almost too good to be true. If you bought everything else new (carb/manifold, ignition, water pump, alternator, oil pan, etc.) to finish off the engine you would still be in under $3500.00 for a LT! engine. I wonder how good the workmanship is on these engines?

Anybody have experience replacing a 305 with a wrecking yard engine with fuel injection versus carburetion? I was even toying with the idea of going with a 4.3 liter V-6 for a very basic plain jane 1983 model El Camino. That might displease purists, but I see others have done it.
Is this an expensive matter or practical?

My gosh! I was looking up a cost on a 2.8L V6 for a Caviler I own and this guy wants a fortune for it $9,000.00 plus. Hell the car only cost me $11,000.00 Brand new! 8O

I can get a GMPP crate for about $1,100.00 Long block.

173 2.8 87-88 V-6 3.503 F.W.D. #459-219 w/Aluminum Heads w/Fuel Pump Shut-Off Switch $9199.00

I could even get a 502 Ram Jet cheaper!
