My 85 Cabalerro's chock dash light comeson after warm up. Been told to check charging system as light could mean alternator or battery problem. The light goes out when engine is reved up a little but then continues to flicker. Anybody run accross the same problem? Bill...

Do you have an oil pressure gauge? The choke light will come on for low oil pressure. When you rev the engine the oil pressure goes up and the light goes out. You could have a bad oil pump or a really worn engine.

I suspect you have a faulty oil pressure sending unit. It is the one located beside of and almost behind, the distributor. It furnishes power to the electric choke. If that pressure switch completely fails, the choke light will burn all the time that the ignition switch is in the "on" position.
