Can somebody tell me the stock TPS setting for a '85 305 please. (On the high idle stop?)

Thanks! :)

Rich, I've never seen an E4ME specification for TPS voltage on the high idle stop. On your 85 the TPS should be adjusted for .48V at curb idle.

Ok, what's "curb" idle. Hot or cold?

Thanks

Engine at operating temperature, no choke, no fast idle solenoid, 600 RPM, = TPS voltage of .48V (+/-.01V).

It's actually not very critical; at low to moderate throttle, the main effect of the TPS being off will be the TCC locking up too early or too late, or even locking/unlocking too frequently. At heavier throttle, with the TPS set too high, the ECM may "unlock" and stop controlling the Mixture Control Solenoid, allowing the carb to go full rich too soon with the throttle blades not open quite far enough. The ECM compares the TPS reading with the MAP sensor readings to determine how much load is on the engine; i.e., whether it's going uphill/downhill, etc. It's better to set the TPS to the factory spec but after you've learned how the CCC system works, playing with it can be fun :o)
