I am new to this forum, but not new to ELKYs. Between My father and myself we have owned 59,60,64,74 and 78 ELKYs. My father pasted away in 1983 and his 74 ELKY is still sitting in his garage. My mother pasted away about 2 year ago and kept the ELKY as a monument to my father. It is a Classic with swivel buckets and is avocado green and white. It has around 48000 miles on a 400 c.u. engine. I am a handicapped person because I fell off a scaffold and suffered detached retinas and can only see good enough to ride a bicycle. Hey, its good exercise!I also own a 64 Dart convertable and a 73 Ford LTD, but they are not in as good a shape as the ELKY. Sure wish the ELKY had a chance to get some exercise, but it will still be in the garage when my time comes. I try to keep it maintained properly, but its not easy. JB

Welcome to ECC / NECOA JB

Glad to have you aboard. Sounds like a nice 4th generation Elky. 400 is a good engine to have especially in a very heavy year model. Sounds like your father ordered the best options for the year model of Elky he had. I can't say much about the color scheme but the important part is its sounds all original.

Good to have you here.

I'd be happy to come up there on my way to Indianapolis this spring and drive you around in that elky, just for old time sakes, ya know.

Hell, I'd even help you change the oil and plugs and tell you how cool you are!

Thanks all for the welcome. Black Knight, I do not have insurance on it right now. I usually get insurance and go get my plates and then have it VET tested and then cancel the insurance to save on money. I assume you have a 5th gen ELKY, I just remodeled a 78 Elky that was rusted out pretty bad and had it painted 1962 Chevy midnight blue and gave it to my son in law who lives in Hammond Indiana. JB
