Seraphx7 03-12-2010, 06:56 PM I love it when the spring kicks back on your finger.:nanawrench:
steelybill 03-12-2010, 07:03 PM All that's required is the right tools, and the learning curve, and a six pack of your favorite BEER!!
464elky 03-13-2010, 04:32 AM Leave the cable un-hooked from the adjuster until the springs are in, then raise the adjuster arm up and hook the cable.

bonacker 03-13-2010, 05:44 PM I've put on hundreds of drum brake springs and they can be a pain! Somedays though, those buggers are just not going to cooperate. So if after 4 tries it doesn't go on, I give up for the day and , yup, go have a beer. I don't think it is possible to describe how to use brake pliers, gotta have someone actually show you. Good luck!
ccured 03-13-2010, 06:13 PM so i spent like 2 hours trying to get the flipping first spring on yesterday. just walked away for the night and drank my beer. so what you know used the spring pliers today got the whole wheel put back together again in under 10 minutes. took me 30 minutes to do the other side from removing drum to putting new shoes and drum on the other side. they just refused to work yesterday
Yeast1 03-13-2010, 09:39 PM Graz!
Sometimes you just have to show the parts who is boss and ignore them. Of course sometimes that just gives them time to think of more ways to not fit.

steelybill 03-13-2010, 10:54 PM Walking away is sometimes required. ( have to wait for the carma):smileyb:
