That is ONLY a PROBLEM, if you allow it to be.
Don't stoop to his / her level, you are above that. Ignore it, that will surely get
their Goat, they thrive on causing issues,
if they can't cause any, they just die and go away. Happens all the Time with them
that are inadequate in other areas. They need a crutch to boost their ego is all.

Ever tried banning someone from a website? On these type of forum boards, it is about impossible to do. You ban one user name and that person just creates another one, using another email account and a proxy server so your IP blocker is useless.

i can not imagine the kind of mentality that creates a situation where one person goes out of their way to hinder or intimidate someone else on a forum, yet every site i have been a member of over the years has had situations where one [or more] members "fixate" on one member to the point of turning that one away.
due to the faceless anonymity of the 'net, it is too easy to hide your real identity. in the end we all must trust that our fellow posters are straight and on the "up and up"...sometimes we get disappointed. most sites have Mods that will keep a check on these situations...it is too easy for things to get out of hand.
usually, the best response to a web site bully or troll is public exposure and THEN ignoring them. they usually go away when nobody will "play" with them.

As this is the only forum I'm part of I have no idea of what could be said or done that could cause someone to not want to take part. I'm not saying it can't be done I just don't see how it could happen?
Would they be getting nasty P.M.'s? Or maybe getting (bashed everytime they posted or responded to a post?

the best way to take away someone's "power" in this situation is to bring them to the light and have everyone know who it is. if they have a legitimate beef, it is usually much easier to solve in the light of day than to stew on it and make trouble. if this person is on the up and up, they have nothing to lose. otherwise, making them known to the group will also mean they can be ignored by the group much easier. by keeping their identity secret, you are basically cosigning their problem.

this is much preferable to losing a valuable member like yourself, Bob.

elkiebob, hope you don't go! I think we met up once in the chat room back during the NFL playoffs, you sound like a great guy! To the "trouble maker", like the site says, "Interesting people drive interesting cars!" If that's not you, then why bother with the site? It's one of the friendliest sites around whereas a lot of the other sites I can't stand from all the stupid bashing & no longer use! Let's all get along please! :nanawrench:

Have not posted in a few weeks but did I miss something? How is it that a person can intimidate another internet user into leaving the site? I really don't understand whats going on. I with everyone else on this one. DONT GO! Has the person directly contacted you stating any type of harm? Is he bad mouthing you to other members, and if so, all other members need to know who this person is. Just my two cents but why ban him or her when we can collective ignore them.

If you do leave, I hope you come back soon.
