Hi again all,

My dad and I picked up a plastic cowl screen set for our 1970 Elky SS 396 which has A/C and the cowl hood induction. Our question is when we installed it, since our elky didnt have it when we got it, the door on the hood did not work after it was installed. We removed the cowl screen and the door seemed to work fine after that. Were the el caminos with the cowl induction hood supposed to have the plastic cowl screens there or did the mesh screen at the back of the hood replace this plastic cowl screen?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as without this, it seems like my elky is missing something and dont want to have to argue with the judges on this either.

Anyone?? Figured someone else might have the same problems as me.

Also, when the engine is turned off, should the cowl induction door be open or closed? Ours is open when the engine is off and closed when the engine is running at idle but opens when you floor it. Is this working correctly?
