Ole rodder here turned me on to his trick for installing headers into our fifth-gen Elkys that come with clearance hump in the transmission crossmember only on the right side -- the transmission crossmember from an 84 Ford LTD. The ford piece has clearance humps on both sides.

Tried a test fit, and it runs straight across the frame, not on a diagonal like the original. So I'll have to drill a couple bolt holes.

But I like the looks better than some of the hacks on the original crossmember, or commercially available replacements I've seen.

And having a ford donate parts to my project is just icing on the cake ;-)

I got on of these. It is a GREAT piece! If you are going to run duals you need this!
This is just my opinion as I am running one of these in my 79 Malibu and it is perfect. BTW he has them on sale now for $85 plus shipping. You can't go wrong.

I just read about a group buy of G-Force in the "Vendors Forum". Someone there says that the G-Force does not fit Elkys. I don't know. All I know is the one I speak of fits my Malibu fine. BTW- it is very similar to the G-Force. Also the weight is 25 pounds.
