After fooling with motorcycles for years, Im foolin with my first street performance car. Starting with 78 Elky...the 350 was swapped with a 305 so im building a 383...have a 12 bolt rear that a guy had in his G body...complete with the southside Machine kit...and got a rebuilt th 400 from my father in law.....now if i can figure out how to swap it all ill be golden !! Any tips on the tranny swap would be greatly appreciated !! Ive found this site to be very helpful !!!! Thanks for a great site!

I had a TH400 in my 79 El Camino SS. You'll need to have the drive shaft modified for the TH400 yoke. The TH350 crossmember won't work with the TH400. It'll have to be modified also. You could also get a double hump TH400 G-body crossmember from Crossmembers.com (http://www.crossmembers.com). John makes a great heavy-duty crossmember. I believe ECC members can get a discount there too.
