Ok, this is probably already in the forum threads somewhere, but I'll go here anyway just in case it makes someone else's day like it did mine. So, I purchased this 396 the other day, with chrome edelbrock valve covers, and they are some kinda nasty, with what looks like a good mixture of father time, dirt, grease and some stuff that even looks like rust. So I took pictures of them, cleaned one with a paper towel and go-jo, took another picture of the two of them, and then cleaned the other one, and wa-la! Not new, but not bad! Trouble is, I had taken the memory card out of my camera, it was happily saving the pictures to nowhere land. Ah well. You'll have to use your imagination! The grit in the go-jo is pretty good for cruddy stuff, and yet did not scar or swirl the chrome.

GoJo has been around for a long time. Maybe not the newer stuff with grit though. Interesting way you used it:smileyb:

A GoJo story.
I had a Maine Coon cat for many years and one time when I went to a cat show, I asked on of the breeders how they got their Maine Coons so "fluffy". Wash the cat with a hand sprayer, warm water, and spread non abrasive GoJo on the fur. Rinse it out gently and it will cut the oils out of the hair. I had given my cat baths our whole time together, so I tried it. Perfect! The cat didn't mind it and her coat was gloriously fluffy.

The non-abrasive go-jo is a great temporary lube for installing all kinds of rubber products that need to be squeezed in or over something.

AND it smells pretty good too.. mmm orangey. For me go-jo brings back memories of when my dad was working at a local garage and I would spend all day running around, playing with the toy tow trucks decorating the shop, or "help" him work on cars.. prolly wasnt much help back then. One time I got to play with the lights and sirens in the D.A.R.E car (drug abuse resistance education) because they put it together in the shop. ..good times...

Maine Coon cats are awesome btw, but on to Go-Jo. I clean just about everything with brake parts cleaner or vinegar. Brake cleaner cuts through some s**t, and vinegar is good for internal engine components as it eats the bajeezus outa some rust/corrosion. Put a gallon or two of vinegar in your radiator and drive around for a day or two then flush, you'll see it for yourself.
