Ok so after going to the elky meeting in Belton today and seeing all the nice elkys, I decided to finally go get new tires which is the last thing I need to pass inspection after several months of working on it to get it this far. So after Pepboys brought it off the lift, my starter went bad and we had to push it into the parking lot. Well a parts store is a great place to break down right, not when the parts store is out of your starter. So one of the employees clocked out to take me to my house to get tools and to autozone to get my starter. Changed the starter, in and out real easy in the Pepboys parking lot, then I noticed some real shady wiring from the previous owner that had to be fixed to even hook up the positive to the solenoid. Fixed that, then I realized that the solenoid installed on the starter that I just bought was bad. By this point I was in the dark in the parking lot and Pepboys as well as every other parts store in Waco is closed, so after a 65$ towtruck fee, me and the cabby are finally home. At least I know I'll pass inspection once I get it started. At least the day started off good.

WOW. But it was a nice day. Even with a breakdown. Wish my '79 started at all. Wiring problems too. Great swap meet after the El Camino meeting too.

You wanta know fun? Go into someones home who just bought a brand new appliance that they haven't had for 6 months, find a bad timer lets say, tell them you have to order a new one because the machine is so new no one stocks it localily and it will take 5 to 7 business days. Return in a week and replace the timer only to find the brand new one is defective also! Thats a real pleasant experence that is becoming even more common!
So much for Q.C.:dontknow:

Ok, here's one -- my starter broke in my mechanics bay. Got a new one and I must have had a short in the starter because it fixed a bunch of problems I was having. It's amazing how she always waits until I have a paycheck or is at the mechanic to have another problem. :hail2:
