: Trim pin removal

I am removing the two tone trim off my 77. I will not reinstall it so I must remove all the pins which held it on.

What is the best way to remove these pins? I assume a grinder. However, I have spent way to many hours in my life fixing my assumptions.

Thank you,
Dave

Use a small set of Vise Grips. Grab the little beggers and give them a turn they'll come straight off. Then you just need to smooth out the nubs a bit. Its safer than using a small dia grinder or cut off wheel.

Just my recomendation. The replacments are little screws with a small phillips tip, I know your not going to put any back on. Some could leave a small hole in their wake. If that happens I'd fill it with a spot weld.

Those little pins are spot welded on at the factory so there is not really a hole there to start with but the operation was not automated and were all applied basically by hand. So some could be tacked better than others and those will possibly leave a small hole. It would be a very small hole.

Just a thought.
