It appears to me that the last generation '90's B bodies (Caprice, Roadmaster, Caddy, Impala SS) have the 5" bolt circle. Prior to that, only the wagons, and longer wheelbase Caddys, Olds 98's, Park Aves, etc had 5". Through the '70's and '80s, most regular full size had the same as your last gen El Camino. Most are 15 x6. I have found some smaller bolt circle 15x7's on sporty intermediates like Monte Carlos(up to '77), but the back spacing is usually too deep and I had to run a thin spacer to keep the tires from hitting the body on the back.

I bought a set of '80's 15x7 S-10 steel rally wheels at a flea market. They had perfect backspacing for my '80 Malibu. The spokes were the same as my Malibu 14x6 rally wheels. I repainted the spokes like Malibu spokes. The Malibu centers fit and I found some 2 3/4" x 15" Olds trim rings that fit nice. They look factory, but bigger.

I have a set of 15" Steel Ralley Wheels off my 80. I suppose that if they didn't rub while on mine they probably wouldn't rub on yours either. I think they're 15" anyway. I have 16" wheels on it now and my 76 has 15's.

I don't really see a problem I think anything up to 4" of backspacing is tight although I do know that some late model Camaro wheels will not work if they're off the front I think it is, I believe you have to use the rear wheels but then they're not steel.

Anyway I wouldn't think you'd have any problems with them. Its going to be all about the tire size then. Should be good to about a 50 series tire. )P245 50's probably is the biggest maybe a 45 but 50's for sure.

Just a thought

I found that 7x15 rims with 3 7/8 backspacing (early '70s rallys) will work on the front up to a 245/60x15. On the back they need a spacer to keep the tire away from the body

7x15 rims with 3 3/8 backspacing are good on the back and will handle a 215/65 tire up front.

I have some 6 x15 rims on another G body with 225/70x15 tires and they just fit.

Stock SS package steel rally wheels from the 1983 to 1985 Monte Carlo SS are a perfect fit, these are 15 inch by 7 and with P215/65/15 tires they will not rub anywhere. I put these on my El Camino because I wanted the benefit of the larger wheel but with the factory look. If you look on the Monte Carlo SS forum (http://www.montecarloss.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi) under SS parts for sale you might find a set. I found my set on Ebay.

Other than the way they are painted, it's quite possible that the S-10 and Monte steel wheels are exactly the same.

Some S-10's had 14" wheels, so have you have to verify the tire size.

I've got stock wheels in front and S-10 or S-15 wheels in back. Not sure because they were on there before it got passed down to me. Anyways, they fit fine, and they look great. I repainted all 4 wheels so they matched and had nice paint. Don't have center caps though. They look good and they work well, and you can see them under my profile near the bottom. But, you should probably do something else so we don't have multiple set ups like this.
