Did you buy the HT 383 GMPP Crate short block or did you do/ have the work done and buy the pieces for your 383? You are going to like that little power plant. A lot!
Give up some specs on the rotating assembly and Transmission! So you decided to go with what, a muncy or Borg Warner or what? Why use the 80 front clip, don't like the one from the 83? I am just nosy. :D

Here is what I used

Its a home made roll around. It worked I have it on a set of Saw horses now that the underside has been painted. That stand would eat up the paint job if I had left it on there., It just had 4 metal legs that stuck up to hold up the body.

No, no crate motor. Bought the assembled short block off a local guy. He's the Regional Distributor for FederalMogul. Builds engines to sell, and for circle track. He's well-known at the local swapmeets.
My wife gave me a set of JEG'S/Canfield 197's for Christmas(whatta girl!!)
I'm going to use a Muncie M-20.
I just like the looks of the single headlights better than the dual lights.

The body is up on 6 ton jackstands.

That is a big engine for that truck, you are going to really like the torque it will produce, its different than a 350/355, even with 6" Rods. Which intake? You're limited on overhead space. Sounds great.

I have an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap I'm going to use.
