Hey guys,

Ive been busy this year, i put a rebuilt 350 engine and TCI Transmission into a 83 El C.
I shortly after bought a 83 Caprice Classic four door for 5 bills/w new tires that needed a engine so i put the El C's old 305 in, it runs good, im enjoying the trunk space and also i like the 700 r4's although i dont like the push in filter/no drain plug on pan?. I had carb trouble, i had to take back off car and bench. The new needle and seat i put in affected the float level and the carb leaked and flooded i think I didnt measure the float level properly. I put the old needle and seat back in didnt adjust float and it runs fine now...I do like the new plunger, its fun to clean the inside Carburetors and reassemble..

Thanks..
dave

Hello!
It's funny how a new car is fun no matter the age. If it's new to us, it can be a whole new game. I used to drive a 1968 Newport as my go to work car (small town). It had a trunk that could hold a whole lot of things.....and did.

I recall some movie preview that had some guys looking at the trunk of somone's new car and saying something like "think of all the bodies you could put in there!".

That was the big joke with this Caprice because of its ample trunk space...
A Caprice is a El Camino with a back seat and trunk..

The trunk of my '64 New Yorker sleeps six comfortably!

My wife's car is a 4-door "93 Caddy Fleetwood, which is actually an over-dressed Caprice, with the huge trunk. It also has the good engine, a 350 Chevy!!, and not some POS Caddy engine of that year.
