So I pull up behind this pickup and I see something moving on the trailer hitch. I look alittle closer and I see a big mouth bass with it's mouth over the ball and when the guy hits his brakes the bass's tail starts flapping.:dontknow:
Strange but cool.

Maybe the owner backed his truck up too much when he was putting his boat in the water and the bass latched on the the ball thinking it was gonna get a free ride out of Texas...did you notice if the truck had out of state license plates...bass can read you know.

here's my fish story! I used to live in corpus, can you tell?

It was a summer night back
in '85, and I was night-fishing
at "a local farm pond", somewhere
west of Springfield, Illinois.
It was an absolutely perfect
night to be fishing. The full moon
hung in the sky like a searchlight,
illuminating the water, which was
rippling from the constant jumping
of fish, who were leaping out of the
water to try to eat everything
flying through the air, even the
moon itself. Every star that had
ever existed had come out, as if they
sensed that tonight something
extra-ordinary was going to happen.

I had caught several bass
by casting top-water minnows
into the shallows, by a bed of reeds
that was traditionally
a great place to catch them.
I had turned most of them loose.
Those of us still allowed to fish
here did a lot of that, and it had
paid off handsomely, as this pond
was known for producing
trophy-sized fish.

I had switched to bottom fishing
with chicken livers, to try to catch
a catfish or two,mostly because
I was getting tired of casting,
and just wanted to sit, drink a few
beers, and enjoy the night.

Then my pole lept towards the water.
Grabbing it just in time, I began
a battle that would last almost
an hour, leaving me dripping wet
from the effort and concentration.

I finally managed to drag it up
on the bank to unhook it, when it
flopped twice, and landed back in the
water. Gone! I don't know what it weighed,
but when I pulled it up on the bank,
the water level in the pond
dropped three inches.
