Welcome, hope you enjoy the site. Without pics or ideas of any problems it would be just a guess as to where to start. I myself, would probably start on door hinges, window tracks, and seals. Clean everything up, lubricate what you can, replace what needs to be replaced.
Post pics. when you can.

the first thing i always do is completely gut the interior, even the stuff that is in okay shape, set all the parts out somewhere you can wash them and asses what kind of condition they are in, dont forget to organize your little pecies i.e screws, washers that sort of thing so you know where they go when you re- assemble the interior. one of the best up grades to any interior in my oipnion is new carpet, and once you rip out the old carpet it will give you a chance to see what kind of rust repaire may need fixed on the floor. second would defiantly be seals, no point in putting in a new interior if its just going to get wet, i have found that its defiantly easier to replace things like that when the interior is stripped especially in el cams where the space is limited, lucky im a little 120 pound chick but its still eyasier, and less painful to have the room to move around. dont forget to clean& vacuum the inside when its gutted there will be a ton of dust bunnies and interesting memorabilia from the 70's lol not to mention it will smell better when you reassemble it. sounds like alot i know but if you do it right and remember what screw goes where it shouldn't be to difficult here are some pics of what i did to my datsun 200sx over the weekend, granted i spent literaly every waking moment on it, and by the way i only spent 100 bucks to do this, the seats were free though. and i used vinyl spray paint for the dsah, and cheap replacement carpet from wal mart along with a few other little things, but hey it was a 400 dollar craigslist special. point is for a little cash and some back breaking work it looks and smells 100% better. good luck with you EL Camino!

Welcome EmmErC. Congrats on the 74!
El chica pretty much covered the basics of interior work. (Good post, and good job on that Datsun!)
You can find carpet, weatherstripping and headliner at quite a few stores online.
www.ecparts.net (http://www.ecparts.net)
www.elcaminostore.com (http://www.elcaminostore.com)
www.opgi.com (http://www.opgi.com)
...those are the top 3 to start with. But you can also find better deals from sellers on eBay. Try doing a search for "molded el camino carpet." I bought the carpet for my '75 on eBay from a business called 1A Auto. They carry both the door and roof rail weatherstripping as well. They also have a website you can check out at www.1aauto.com (http://www.1aauto.com)

Thank you sooo much.... Will check those out immediately and would those be good sources for sealing rubbers and stuff??? Cuz chica made a good point lol.... I'm planning on sanding her down a bit to spray paint her flat black to protect the body while I work on the interior (cuz she is already my daily driver... Or do you reccomend I take her to a shop to get primered instead??? Cuz the thing is I can't afford the paint job I want just yet and I suppose doing the interior and engine first is the artest thing anyways....
