I just replaced the rubber weatherstripping that goes around the door, but it didn't fix the problem of wind noise coming through. Is this a door adjustment? or is there another rubber seal that attaches to the body where the door makes contact when closed? There seems to be a large gap when the door is closed.

Sorry it's a newbie question....... :?

Aren't all questions Newbie questions? I can't say for sure on your 71 but on my 76 with doors the size of Texas I had to replace the hinge pins and striker and re-align the door for the noise to subside but I never got it all to go away, just the annoying stuff.

You could also be hearing the wind from around the felts and window channels now more then before possibly.

My 71 only has only one rubber seal going all the way around the edge of the door.
Hard to believe your door is that far out of align and still close.. But hell anything is possible on a 33 year old vehicle.

Take a picture or your door and send it to me i will compare it to mine see if something is missing.
