Hello!
I just wanted to share my full porting results. #3973370 casting 64CC. This is my first porting project and I am quite satisfied. These heads are going on top of the #3970010 short block (350 cid). After some days I'm going to get my new valves. I hope I can pump more than 350 hp out of my Elcy. I'l keep You posted!

Looks very nice. Did you do gasket matching or just a light porting and polishing?

It certainly looks good. I'll be honest with you though--without a flow bench you really are shooting in the dark with hand porting heads. You can spend countless hours grinding and polishing and end up with heads that actually flow less than when they were untouched. Personally I just port match the exhaust and intake, clean up any obvious casting faults in the runners and polish the combustion chambers. Don't bother polishing the intake runners because smooth walls can couse fuel to "drop out" of the mixture. I rarely spend more than 3-4 hours on a pair of heads.
If you want ultimate flow go with a CNC ported head.

It does indeed look good...my first job from 15-19 was in a custom auto machine shop, and they used to stick me with that task...back then, we ground down any nipples in the exhaust port to get a cackle sound that enhanced the sound of our custom ground cams.......we didn't have flow benches then-but we also didn't have fuel injection for performance except Crowler......my first personally built ported and polished smallblock had a tunnel ram and 2 4's.....that thing blew the back window of a camaro from bodyflex when I launched off the starting line at the strip
what kinda valves and what sizes???????we used to stick 427L88 intakes in
I am sure the intake is next, right???????
And headers too, right?????????
the best thing about polishing is in the end it will resist the build up of carbon
I'm using standard valves 1.94/1.5. The portmatching was done before but it was ugly. There were very sharp corners near the gasket line and I think it made the velocity worse than stock. I made the matching lines smooth and widened the intake near the pushrod pass-

Also, I tried to reshape the port bias for better flow. I have studied David Vizard's "How to build and modify Chevrolet small block v-8 cylinder heads" and some other books.
There is no flowbench in Estonia but I tried to port smart- take as less material as possible to gain better velocity.
I'v got headers and Holley intake already. But i don't know about the cam it is certainly changed but the type is unknown cause I haven't taken it out.
