Saturday, May 15, 2010, from 8 am until 4 pm, may be your first chance this year to show appreciation to our brave men & women in uniform for the sometimes thankless job they perform when protecting us, our families, and our Nation during these troubled times. So, come on out to the Military Appreciation Day Car Show in San Antonio to show that you care, and that you really, truly appreciate these fine Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines - Not only the first & finest of our Nation, but truly the Worlds' finest.

Please join me and the San Antonio area members of the ECC & NECOA as we display the best all-around vehicle ever produced in the world - the "cruck"! And while you're there, strike up a conversation with one of the young men or women you see. You may be amazed with the knowledge these young adults possess about the freedoms we enjoy and how to protect them for future generations. But don't stop there - search out the grizzled veterans of past wars - congratulate them and tell them how much you appreciate their sacrifices and service. You may see a tear run down their cheek, if they don't turn away fast enough, but it may very well be something some of have never heard! And that, my friends, is a national tragedy of the greatest degree!

Hey Ken , I spoke with Tsgt Luis Reyes this afternoon after work and he said that the Trophy's had already been ordered and it would not be possible to have an El Camino class at the car show , but that they would have all the El Camino's listed in the All Chevrolet class and depending HOW MANY El Camino's show up he will have us parking next to each other , I hope I don't catch any Cooties from Main-tain man ... so I hope we have a good turn-out regardless how your truck looks like I don't have a fancy looking truck , but I'm still entering :nanawrench: .... I'm going to support this great benefit for our G.I's and not just for trophy ..... :nanawrench: Thanks the GEEZ

The trophies are certainly not the first level of concern - the support that we can offer to the current and past members of our armed forces is what's really important. I know that you agree with that, and that our other area members do also...........Ken :beer: :texas:

Hope you folks have a great time! I love San Antonio!! Not only did I do my basic training there, I also attended a few courses during my career in SA, including Aeromedical Evacution school (Brooks AFB), and regularly flew aerovac missions to Kelly AFB. Love the river walk, food, and well... I could go on.

Maybe someone down there San 'Tone' way can come up with a place where we can gather before the show so as we can caravan to the show for our parking? Anyone want to volunteer for this chore? Try to make it close to the nearest La Quinta, 'cause that's where I be stayin' when I goes to San 'Tone'.............Ken :beer: :texas:

Man, sounds good, as prior navy, I will always support the military past and present, unfortunately I have to work this saturday, I'd love to get down there, maybe next year I guess.

Sorry, Richard, but I'll not be able to make it down for the show on the 15th. The chrome job for my cruck is going to run over the estimated time, and it simply cannot be hurried up any more. Can't make Biff's or the car show this weekend. Taking the family camping, actually staying in a cabin, with the inlaws. wish me luck.

Hey Ken , boy o boy am I am REALLY PISSED right now because I won't be able to drive my car to the damn car show here in town saturday , that I have wanting to go to and meet some of the G.I.'s and of course its been raining here in SA and suppose to rain all weekend and next week they say .... because I have developed an electrical problem or short in the wiring dealing with the starter and ignition :dontknow: .... sometimes it will turn over and start and alot of times just the dash lites come on .... the battery is almost new, the alt. is putting out almost 14 volts but it still acts up ... now if I hook up my charger or jump it , it starts and then I see the volt meter jumping around when I rev it up and then the needle will jump up to 141/2 volts or 15 volts until I put a load on the system like the lites or blower motor then the needle goes back down to 131/2 ... so I'm gonna take it in to my old wrench mechanic friend tue. and see what the deal is .... so bottom line is I am ONE UNHAPPY CAMPER WITH ATTITUDE :bat_angel:

I'm really sorry to hear that, Richard! I know how hard you've worked to pump up the interest in this show - believe me! I know how hard it is to work this group to get a commitment of any kind, for any type event! Thanks for trying, and we'll get together at a later show. I'm going to hire a PI to get some really good dirt on the San 'Tone group before the next big show. ive had 2 people tell me it was rained out so i didnt go, then i have one of my co-workers that said he went up there and it was all new cars pretty much. mostly new chargers/challengers/camaros.

not much classic or older hot hods...
