Does anyone have any idea why the cut out the square holes in the front bumper on 68' El Camino's?
Was it for style or do you think they have a purpose?
I'm talking about the square hoes on the bumper on each side of the license plate?

put a peace of cardboard in the cutouts and see if your temp. gose up..(to bad you couldn't use it for Ram Air scoops):dontknow:
One of my freinds have a D&%ge truck and ran cold all the time,so,he did an "Old trucker" trick,he put a peice of cardbord in front of the raditor.well,it workand has heat inside the cab.thats why you see a lot of truckers with a "Blanket" on there raditor.some has flaps,and operatates to according the temp.

I figured it out today. I was mounting the front bumper, and found the holes convenient to stick my hands in while tightening the bolts... so there you go! It's an assembly line thing. Oh, and they probably saved a bit on material and chroming too. I am planning to mount some 50 cal guns there for those alient attacks now that I don't need the holes anymore...

I like the .50 cal idea. Then you can put stickers of all your kills on your fender.
