o.k. not sure if this has been discussed, but my question is about rims!
will 5th gen rims fit on a 2nd gen ? or if you do not understand that, are the rims of elkys interchangable through out the years and generations, or are they all different in some way?

I'm not sure about '59 and '60 El Camino's and there bolt pattern, but from 1964 through the end of production, El Camino's used the 5 x 4 3/4" bolt pattern. This was a very common bolt pattern through out the GM line. So yes fifth gen wheels will fit onto a 1964-1967 Elky with no problem, except perhaps backspacing issus or whatever ... depends on that wheels, but it should bolt up!

thank you i was pretty sure about it being the same pattern, since alot of gm cars have it, but i just wanted to make sure. i know the rims i want will fit the 5th gens with a little modding. but i also think they would look sweet on a 2nd gen

here is a link - http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?wheelPackages=1&pkgid=6&curpage=2&startrow=6 tell me what you think

I remember from a previous post that you were from Ohio. Well, I'm not sure exactly where in Ohio that you are from, but you may consider ordering that wheels through www.partszoneonline.com and saving on the shipping by going to pick them up when they come in. This dealership is P&G Chevrolet in Slovan, Pa. It's near Stuebenville, Ohio, about 2 1/2hrs or so from Akron or Cleveland. I've been dealing with the dealership for years, there parts manager's name is Bill, he is a great guy. If you decide to go through them, tell Bill that Bryan Shook referred you.

P&G Chevrolet - $503.12 + 6% sales tax = $533.30 (and you can call and talk to a real person)
gmpartsdirect.com - $475.30 + $95.06 (approx. shipping) = $570.36

If you can go pick them up in Slovan, Pa, it might be better for you, but even if you can't, it still might be cheaper depending on what P&G quotes you for shipping and you won't have to pay the sales tax since they would be shipped to Ohio. At P&G, you pay the actual UPS shipping charge, not a pre-set rate.

I think the '59 and '60 had the 5X5 bolt pattern?
