The valve cover gaskets have needed changing for a while. Monday, the kids were in school, the wife at work, even the weather was cooperating..........time to break out the wreches and replace those gaskets! I had the first cover loose, when my best friend shows up...........with a 12 pack! We tossed a few back, BSes for a while, while I tried to focus on the task at hand.
I had to pull 2 spark plug wires on one side to have room to get the cover in and out. Of couse, beeing slightly enebrieated, I figured I would remember which wire went on which plug. Come on, I'd only had a FEW! Got the first cover back on, forgot to replace the wires.......started working on the other side, pulled a couple wires on that side........drinking the rest of the beer in the process!
By the time I got the covers installed, my grip on reality had become tenuous at best. I put the wires back on in what looked like the right plugs. Am now running on 5 cylynders. As opposed to my brain which was running on about 3..........
Between bouts of dope-slapping myself, I have looked at and around the distributor looking for firing numbers. Found none. I know your supposed to put a piece of tape on the wire with the cylinder # on it
I'm not sure if I can face taking this to a mechanic.......
