hey guys i really need your help on this one i went to put in my new th350 and everything bolted in great and its in the car, BUT i have a floor shifter and i was told i need somekind of bracket for the shift cable on the new trans. can anyone give me some advice to either what i should do or what part i need to buy.

Can't you move the bracket over from the 200R4?

I think you need the shifter from an 83 down Monte Carlo or El Camino. They should have the detents for the 3 speed transmission. Not sure if the bracket on the tranny itself will interchange or not.
that shifter should work.

i cant from the 200 cause thats already gone. and i have the detent for the 350 already but the car was converted from the column shift to the floor shift i just dont have anything from the 200 to compare or match up too, so im in a reall jam

I think the part that is different is the bracket at the rear of the transmission, that holds the cable to the transmission via a couple of pan bolts. I know when I went from a TH350 to the 200-4r, I had to scrounge up one of those brackets for a 200-4r, so they are different. makes sense, since the pans are different, hence the spacing of the bolts. I woulnd up with a B&M bracket, which I think is universal for both.
