...like how to do it...just kididng sort of, Hey I have read the descriptions of replacing the door pins and bushings...so I hate to ask more questions...Got a 75 that needs that job done.
But I can't picture doing it without taking the door off.
Seems like the pin can't slide out (up) b/c the car door hangs over it.
(It already has an old replacement pin with cracked bushings)
Could cut it off, but the new one couldn't go in.
Can I take off the door (leaving the hinge on) or is that asking for a world of hurt putting them back on (tracing around where it was to begin with)? I do have jack stands and a "strong reliable friend."
Any help is appreciated of course
Thanks,
Jeff my doors a saggin D

It's either one at a time, usaually a long punch will work, or off.....
you may prefer off....at least then you will only have an alignment problem and not a srewed up door

Have a friend help you & do one pin at a time.

As heavy as they are I found the best way for me was to completely remove the door and hinge. Repair it then put them back on. You know already just where the hinge goes back and its position from the paint. They bond the door hinge to the body metal, bare metal to bare metal and the door is the same. I cleaned mine with some sand paper (the bonded spots) prior to putting the doors back on. I hung the hinges and then had a couple of friends hold the door while I got the bolts back in.
Those doors have to weigh 120 each if they weigh an ounce.

It is making more sense - the instructions posted in the past work for replacing an original pin - one at a time, with a drift and some wiggle. This one already has been replaced previously. I think to use the repair kit he had, he had to take off the door (b/c there is door metal just over the top of the pin). It was a smaller diameter pin with little metal flag/flaps that kept it in position instead of the nail-like pins I got from the dealer - it has no pin or "flag" to keep it in place if it was hanging.
Anyway, I took some pics, but need to check the FAQs to post inside an email. I'll post back on how it goes.
Thanks!

I just completed new hinges on my '66 doors a couple of weeks ago. There are a few pics on my web site with some general instructions. Took the doors off to do them.
