They played that episode tonight on Speed Marv. First time I saw it realizing it was you. Great job taking them all out... And now you say you beefed the truck up some more?!

I've seen him on that show twice. I thought it was great when he won.

Thanks guys. I tell you it was a total fluke. A buddy kept telling me "take the truck,,,take the truck" I had already been in the Pinks-All-Out at Phoenix with my Nova (and lost first round with a broken trans) This friend (in fact, the long haired guy at the line with me jumping around like a teenager LOL) was telling me "they haven't seen the truck, take the truck, you never know". I argued that the whole point of hauling to Tucson was to get HIS car in the show, not me again. And besides,, they NO WAY would pick a mid-12 second class,, NO WAY!!!! Well you saw the rest. If it weren't for Dana I wouldn't have been there with the truck. Pretty wild day.

In fact,, he went yesterday and signed us both up for Pinks-all-out coming to Firebird in November. Maybe I can 3peet ;)

elkyholic,, the truck was just a hydraulic roller 383 with a single 4150 running DOT tires. Just a street toy. Now were stepping things up a little and going racing :)

Darn the luck! I turned to another channel when I saw it was a rerun from 2008. Maybe catch it next time. However, a belated Congratulations are in order............Ken

Yeah, going to take the Nova again. The rules say no vehicle can run in another Pinks-all-out if it won (they have had plenty of cars running multiple races so that must be OK) Would take the ElCamino but it's too slow. Somewhere on the site it calls for 13 second and quicker cars. Just what few county road tests I've made with the Camino it's probably around a 14 second car (according to DakotaDigital dash). I didn't build it to race it anyways. So we'll go see if they want a 9.2 second class.

Hey if any of you wanted to see Marv D and his 66 chevy, you can go to speed.com and then to full episodes at the top. Then go Pinks all out program. Season 2 and then Tucson, AZ. Of course its free. Marv D did a great job and Dana was totally amped for him. Can't wait to see you in Nov.:You_Rock:

A couple more questions for ya, Marv. Is FIR holding a divisional the weekend of the taping and do you think it will increase your chances of making a 16 car field as opposed to just a test and tune event? I know Rich Christensen likes the quicker cars but they can never seem to get a cluster within a couple of tenths in the lower E.T. classes to make a full field. How was it the first time with the Nova? Was that a divisional? Either way, good luck and here's an iced tea for ya!

Dale these things are a track rental,, no interaction between NHRA, local sanctions, nothing. It's strictly a 'pinks' event. The track does tech and then turns a blind eye. You get teched to 10.0 and run a 7.50,, it's up to Pinkls to DQ you, not the track. Kind of wierd.

The first one I was in with the Nova was the second Pinks All Out ever. They did that first one in Tx, then here. They put out the call for ONLY 9 second cars. No 8 second cars on stops, no 10.01 cars,, NINE second cars only. They said anyone runs an 8 is getting blackballed from all Pinks events. If you run all out and run a 10 or slower,, your asked to leave. They were really trying for a tight 9 second field. They opened up 450 registrations, and had a mandatory T&T on Friday night. We had mineshaft air and my little shoebox was a cookin. Best passes ever that night 9.13 - 9.15 @ 147 pretty consistant. Air kept getting better and I was wondering it it was going to go an 8. One of those good thing / bad things LOL. Nate was logging times all night Friday, then all day Saturday through 2 time trials. They selected 32 cars from the 450, and ran them off for the final 16 that made it into the show. All I had was high gear and I really shouldn't have been there,, but what the heck :)
