Hello,
always in need to change something on my Elky, I was looking at Summit catalog and find those cheap transmission improve kits from B&M. Does anyone already try its ? I've a TH350 with a SB350 - with Headers, performer intake, 204/214 cam, tuned q-jet. It's a daily driver and I don't want a tire burner .....
all the best to our chickmobile..... :) :) :)

i've never used them but i kno a guy with a 2000 s-10 that had the b&m shift kit and it was an automatic tranny and it would make his tires chirp when shifting so it must do something good. hope this helped

I love mine! No lag at all in the shifts. It makes the th350 alot more fun to drive.

I used the shift improver kit. One great addition to the 350.

Yes I've used the Transpak Shift Improver and it works well. It is a little messy to install lying on your back under a dripping tranmission. I also needed to adjust the governor to get the transmission to shift at a higher engine speed, don't know if it was peculiar to my trans or they all need a major adjustment.

I didn't have to mess will my governor. It's easy to install if you take your time. While the pan is off be sure to change out your filter.

thanks for your answers. This will be my next purchase but not my next project. I think I'm gonna wait to restore my elky ( next year ) so I can check my transmission and put the B&M kit on my workbench, not under the car with oil spitting everywhere ( including face, hands, floor..... ).

I also have the B&M 2400 stall converter with the shift kit in my 69 ELKY 350. It works really well and I like the pop I get when it shifts and the little chirp of the tires. I believe you can get the parts through JEGs catalog and I think it's call the 2400 Hole Shot.

As you can see i've got a 402 with a TH (or is it HT) 400. I had a shift-kit put in when it was rebuilt and the beast barks the tires when shifting into every gear! But when in city traffic it just shift more solid, so i'd say they're a great addition. Also the rebuilder told me that it also improves the life of the trans; the life of the differential is another story :-)
