First off, no comments about the lack of a 2010 calendar. Let's put that behind us.
Ok it's time to start working on next year's calendar. Submissions are starting today. Here is a link to the 2011 NECOA Calendar Submissions (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/gallery.php?g2_itemId=77555) gallery page. This will be a NECOA calendar, not an ECC calendar.
Voting is going to open on September 1st and winners announced on October 15. I'm planning on having it published by November 1.
The highest cars from each generation will win. Please note I said each generation.
Take a look at the previous album (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/gallery.php?g2_itemId=63156) for what will be looked for. Here are some good ideas on taking pictures (http://elcaminocentral.com/showthread.php?p=194434#post194434)
Here are the general rules for pictures that can be submitted:
1.) Photos must be a minimum of 11 x 8.5 inches in size at 150-300 dpi. Do not take a smaller picture and try and increase the size. It looks bad, can easily be seen that it was increased in size and will be deleted. There is not a maximum size, bigger pictures are actually easier to work with.
2.) All photos must show the whole car depending on angle taken. That means don't take a side shot and cut off the rear bumper. But one of the best pictures and cover of the 2005 calendar was a great shot down the side of a Cabby.
3.) Please take photos with an interesting background. Beach, park, trees, car show etc., no pictures of the garage, driveway and house. Car images pasted onto Photoshop backgrounds and the like will not be considered.
4.) Images not meeting these few guidelines will be deleted from the album. Of those remaining, members will have the option to vote on their favorites. Images from each generation with the most votes will win a spot on the calendar. The calendar will have all generations represented so long as pictures are submitted. This means that a different generation could be beat out by another generation with less votes so that all generations will be on the calendar.
5.) You must include a brief description including:
Your full name
ECC user name
NECOA #
Year and model of El Camino
The state you live in
Any Photos without this information will be deleted.
6.) Only two (2) pictures per vehicle are allowed. Pick your 2 favorites and submit them, any which are submitted after the first 2 will be deleted. If later you get a better picture and want to submit it delete one of the first 2 and submit the new one. No picture changes allowed after voting begins. If you have trouble deleting a picture you submitted let me know and I’ll delete the one you want.
7.) Vehicles do not have to be show quality but the picture should be able to show it off. A good scenic background can do wonders.
8.) When you’re taking your pictures turn the function off that prints the date/time on the picture. Sometimes this cannot be cropped out.
9.) If your photo was used in a previous calendar it can not be submitted again. Photos that were submitted but not used can be re-submitted. A previous winning vehicle can be submitted but not using a picture that was in a previous calendar.
Anyone having problems uploading pictures, please send your pictures and information to me by PM or e-mail and I'll add them to the submissions.
A good place for how to take pictures of a car can be viewed HERE (http://www.cobracountry.com/fototips/home.html). Please note that these is for suggestions only and not any rules for this calendar. For example the link says to not take pictures on grass. If it's a good picture it can be submitted. Like I said use this as a guide line but it is NOT a rule for here.
So wash it, wax it, shine it up and get polished. And start taking pictures. September 1st will be here before you know it. Good luck to everyone!
