Ok so when I finally think I could possibly turn this gas guzzler into a somewhat daily driver I have transmission issues... I havent taken it in yet I think I will this thursday to AAAMCO.. But whats going on is that usually when I hit the gas it either snaps my neck back or leaves a trail of rubber on the pavement. Now when I hit the gas i slowly creeps and then maybe 5 seconds later it kind of starts to pic up speed but then it seems like it drops back down into a lower gear and then back up.. It frustrates the hell out of me.. And I usually park my Elky backwards in the driveway and I couldnt even get her to go into reverse!! Anyone have any clue of what this could be? I asked a mechanic that did some small stuff to it and he said since it sat for a bit before i bought it then it sat for 9 months after i got it some seals my have gone bad.. But can a seal do all of this?? Please HELP!!

Sorry to make a stupid suggestion - is the fluid full? I had a leaker tranny once, when it went to low fluid, it acted sort of like your symptoms. Otherwise, sounds like the front pump is pooped out.:???:

Don't understand the erratic part of it, but no reverse can sometimes be low oil, or a screen that's got a lot of crap on it and restricting flow to the pump inlet. Take a look at the modulator hoses on the ends of the steel line, and check for trans oil in the modulator hoses or line. Do all the simple stuff before getting into it deep. The linkage from the shifter can also cause some problems. Make sure it's adjustment is OK.
The seals wont be a problem if if sits for just a couple of years, unless it's a really old transmission. One of mine sat for 10 years and was OK.
