: Driver's Door Mirror for '79

My original chrome mirror (not a bullet shape) no longer holds position, I badly need a replacement as this is my daily driver and there's a number of places along my drive where I need to see what's coming up in that mirror.

The El Camino Store doesn't list anything.

Some years ago, before the advent of the cheap asian-made electric mirrors, you could find matched sets of cheap to expensive door mirrors in any auto parts store. No longer, since today's cars don't use such things any longer...

I don't need nor want to pay for a spotlessly chrome mirror... just need something that'll fit into the existing two holes in my door that holds its position. It can be blistered to Heaven-Come, I don't care, as long as I can bolt it into place without drilling more mounting holes. AND.... it has to hold position. Up to 100 mph *insert evil laugh here as I speed to work :driving:

Anything available out there?? Thanks!

I have a set that I will sell ya! They are in great shape but the passenger one has a broken mirror in it. Otherwise they are perfect. $40 shipped to your door. Let me know vegasj72@aol.com. These are them on my car. http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx253/bigjw72/Elco/DSC00008-2-1.jpg

Do you want them?

Sorry for the daily; all week, I forgot I'd posted this "want". $40 seems high for a pair of driver's quality door mirrors, one being cracked. I'll keep looking and if I get really desperate, maybe I'll just bite the bullet and swap on the poor-fitting one from my junker '84 Elky. In fact, maybe I'll just go do that now before it starts raining...

Thanks anyway!

I have one, not show worthy but does fit the holes on my spare EC door. It is a remote mirror but that can be changed. $25 shipped
