5th Gen's don't look so bad as a convertible. But that 67 is another story 8O :?

Interesting concept, but it does not appear to have been very well done. Top is all wrinkled, bumber crooked, etc. Explains the cheep price.

I was just searching for older elkys, when i saw a 67 for cheap, then realized why. that car is pretty much destroyed

The person that did that also missed the concept of MASKING TAPE! The door handles, grill and bumper were all painted. If the price was lower I would buy it to part out, 12 bolt, SS hood, Disc brakes, ect; then it would be off to the crusher before someone else saw it and had ideas on how to end the life of a classic.

If that thing was around here, i'd walk up with $2500 cash and drive away in it.

That thing would kick ass. You know how much a real 67 Convertible chevelle costs? Even a crappy/rusty needs that needs restoration non-ss would bring close to $10k...

That would be a real neat custom car- and DIFFERENT... which is one reason i'm into elkys anyway. ANd because someone else already did the hacking, i wouldn't feel too bad about getting it and making it cool.

Would definitely need some work on the top and stuff... but with the elkys Boxed frame- it would not be a bad place to start to make a cool custom convertible.

Just my $.02 :D

It looks like it could use some TLC. Done correctly it could be a very cool Elky.

I think it would make a nice cruiser with some tlc . a couple years a go my friend bought a bondo 67 chevele ss convertable with no engine or top and he paid ($11,000) i just wish i lived closer that would make a real cool sunny day cruiser.for a decent price.

Aw comeon you guys. Not every Elky has to be restored to look like it just came off the assembly line and looking exactly the way the General built it. Sometimes you have to push the envelope and go over the top. You might look like a hero or you might look like a fool, but you tried--and bygod that's the American Spirit. I salute all the builders of convertible El Caminos, 4-wheel drive Elkys, limosine Caminos and all the other weird, ugly and just plain strange illiterations of our favorite vehicle.

You know, it does keep some of them out of the crusher. At least for a while. :)

Don't be so cynical Tommy. These..these....creations inspire us, invigorate us and most of all keep us wondering "what were they thinking?".

I can't quite get inspired or invigorated over this.. this creation. Guess I'm just mired in cynicism. Jon

I'm not inspired. I don't even care for it. But I do agree that they don't all have to be restored or look like they just rolled off the showroom floor. I like to see the different incarnations whether they be good, bad or whatever.
That my 2 cents.

I'm with Mrappii, after all interesting people drive interesting cars. This type of creation can inspire someone of greater skill and resources to do a better job and then hey, a totally unique elky among an already unparalleled vehicle. Some of what may be done may look extreme but I've seen enough on this site to know that there's nothing an elky can't do. My question is which one of you guys is gonna turn one into a airplane?

I'm with you Highwaysignpost although my praise of all weird El Caminos is somewhat tongue in cheek. If your creation of a unique El Camino strays too far from the norm then it could end up being an exercise in silliness. As far as that El Caminoplane, you want a jet or a prop?
