I'm a former elky owner. I used to own a 77 El Camino classic. I had it from 94 to 96 before I was rear ended and the frame was bent and it got totaled out.

If anyone knows of a 73-77 or even other ages for cheap in the North Texas area I'd love to get one now to fix up eventually with my 3 sons.

I'm in the IT field and available to answer any computer, network, internet related questions.

Thanks.

Darren

I'm hoping to avoid wrecking yards. I'd like to get a running one at least or mostly complete. I found my ideal one but didnt have the cash.

A 1973 70k original miles original 454 elky ss with black int/ext and a stout rebuilt 454 all for around 3500-4000 in Plano.

It needed paint, bigger wheels and rubber to handle that 454 and a different rear end but would have been a great buy.

Sounds like it needed a lot. Maybe it wasn't such a great buy you mostly mentioned stuff you could see. What about the stuff you can't see. :D

Check this out someone here that is selling their 5th generation Elky look here: http://www.necoa.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3641&sid=f986b0c583b2ccf736e73ece96642420
