As best I can tell from our membership database, we have almost 300 members in California (and Nevada), which are split between our Regions 17 and 18. We have one Regional Director in that area, Jon Roberts, and are still looking for another one. Because of the huge distances involved in California, our NECOA leadership has agreed to identify "Area Coordinators" in major metropolitan areas who will help us organize attendance at local shows, cruise nights, and other events. In California, I suspect this would be at least four or five separate locales, such as San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Bay Area, and Sacramento/Northern.

If any of you are willing to step up and help promote attendance at these functions, let me or Jon Roberts know. We do not recommend anyone try to start a show/cruise night from scratch, but merely to identify already existing ones and try to get our local members to come and meet each other. Another option is for someone to arrange a barbeque at his own home and just invite other members to come and get acquainted.
Our new website being developed by Robert More will be requiring members to fill in their locality and this will help us greatly in facilitating members getting together. All of you who are posting on this topic are strongly urged to go to your members profile and add some more specific information about what town you live in as well as your state.
