I have 3 gauges installed on the windshield(A?) pillar. Work was done by a mechanic I now longer use(long story). There is a large gap between the gauge panel, the body pillar and window rubber seal. Large enough to expose wires, and stick a finger into.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a poor gauge panel? Anyone have a panel that is wide enough to cover the post and wires?
I saw some mention about Dixie Monte Carlo/El Camino parts, but could get them to answer the phone yesterday for a question.

I have one of those too Sam, and it sounds like you don't have the original trim piece installed underneath. I don't know who made yours, but I would imagine there's only one manufacturer. You might try this: http://www.gbodyparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=913&osCsid=b91e44969bbd5bced22fe21f8af05d39. I fitted mine up (not the one pictured) without the original A pillar trim and there's a gap as you describe, but when installed over the original trim it's all good. What gauges do you have in there besides a boost gauge?

Sam , If you have not found what you need yet , you might want to check with M and M Speed . I think they are in your general area and are members on this site . I understand from mutual friends that they are real good to deal with . They are available at www.mandmspeed.com . Hey , hope you get that ride ready for the NPD Oktoberfest All GM Silver Springs Show Oct . 2 . Info at www.npdlink.com .

I do not think the trim I have will fit over the original panel. I called Dixie MonteCarlo/ElCam to order another trim with gauges. They said they had the same problem with all the pieces. Could not get the supplier to widen the panel. Not a very good supplier, but the only one, I guess.
I will be trying to cover the wires with another trim piece. Will file a pix, if it works.
I have temp, amp, and oil press. on the pillar. Gas in center between speedo/tach, and trans temp/boost on the center consol. No idiot lights.
M & M Speed is really good. I have used them for several parts, mostly used. Always good to work with.
I should be getting the Elky on the road full time the end of July(Said that in April, May,.....)
Hope to make some Fla. shows, but as I am one of the strange people in S.W. Fla. who still has to work for a living, I have to work around WORK??
Will try to get out more. Pix when I get something working right.
