1959 California built "Black Plate" El Camino. $900.00
Been off the road for several years after an interior fire, sorry no title.
Looks terrible at first glance, but is actually much better than several I have seen offered for much higher prices.
Has the usual rusted out passenger floors, but the rest of the body is nearly rust free except for surface rust caused by the fire.
Some old accident damage, but not too bad, the fire removed the Bondo for you!
The hard part of any '59 to repair is the rear around the fins and wheel wells, this area is pretty cherry, actually better than the '59 and '60 I am keeping!
This is a perfect car to start with for that radical custom you have wanted to do, or to save a LOT of time fixing a really rusted out body!
V8 3 Speed car, so easy to make a V8 and 4 or 5 speed.
Front clip body sheet-metal is complete (I have a hood in storage), the sub floor in the rear is surprisingly very good.
Some warp in the roof, most trim is missing, there is no glass, missing the tail-gate and rear bumper. ( I know where you can find them)
A great project or source of parts.
Manual steering, factory 12 bolt rear axle.
It will go rolling on a set of original 14" rims, one needs a new tire.
I will throw in whatever spare trim I can dig up.
$900.00 seems very fair to me, I paid nearly that for just a front clip.
I think at my price it might even be worth shipping out of the area, rust-out repair is a pain.
I may, MAY, consider trade for a T56 'Vette six speed trans or other 59-60 parts I really want.
Right now ca$h is king.
I had hopes/dreams of making a roadster out of it, but I just got a semi-running '60 with a four speed.
Four is too many for me, so this one gets to find a new home.
