i have a 305 4 barrel in my el camino. i know its not the most economical thing to drive but is it normal to have to refill my tank every three or four days?
anyway,i have a rochester dualjet 2bbl from my '79 elky. would i be able to swap this on and maybe get better fuel economy? i might be able to get a 2bbl intake or at least an adaptor until i get an intake. what else would need to be done?

my dad made be switch my 4 barrel carb out for a 2 and i only have to fill my tank up i think like every 7 to 10 days depending how hard i drive it. all i got was and adapter piece and an air filter and works jsut fine.i'd much rather have my 4 barrel on there for performance sake but its helping now with gas prices on the rise so i guess i can say fathers know best 8)

Actually a 4 barrel will give you better gas mileage if you stay out of the rear barrels. The primary(front) barrels of a 4 is generally smaller than the two barrel.

Tommys, right your better off leaving the 4 barrel carb on for better gas mileage just be easy on the loud pedal.a two barrel will be way harder on fuel.
