Well it sure was a great event again this year. All the planning and negotiating sure paid off, we had more room than we would ever wanted. We had good attendance and we were in the runnning at one point to be one of the top five clubs at the show. I'm waiting to hear our exact ranking but whatever it is I'm happy we were even being considered.

First of all I want to thank all those who donated their hard earned money to this event, without you we would just be anohter bunch of cars on the field. The tent came in very handy in the heat. Also, thanks to Brian Shook, Region 3 Director, for the two cases of water you generously donated. They sure came in handy!

Thursday Garry with 2 R's (ProStreetGarry), Ken Rogers, and I had a bite and shared a couple of pitchers at the Gingebread Man around the corner from the hotel and shared a few laughs. It seemed like we were all there just yesterday and not a year ago!

Friday was a bit slow as is usual so it was a nice lazy day to relax and meet up with old friends and play a "Where in the World is..." game (inside joke folks). A few of us gathered at the Market Cross Pub for dinner and good car conversation.

We had a good showing on Saturday and I'm very pleased to report that we made a good impression once again with the administration at Carlisle. We were very well complimented at a special luncheon for all the club directors and dignitaries at the show. Look for some very special treatment next year!

Of course we all voted on each other's vehicles and picked everything from Best in each Gen to Best in SHow to Dirtiest Engine. ALso during the day on Saturday the officials judged our El Caminos and the winners were announced this morning at 9AM. Not only were NECOA members the runaway winners we also took a large number of Celebrity Awards.

Our Saturday Banquet was a success as usual and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We gave out the awards and everyone went home very happy, even though most of the names were spelled wrong on the award certificates! SO SHOOT ME!

Tomorrow, I'll post the names of all the winners from both our own voting and the official Carlisle list. And before anyone even THINKS of bringing up those silly "privacy" issues again every one agreed they have no problem with our publishing their names here. Carlisle publishes the list as well for all to see. Not a single person could understand why this was even an issue to begin with.

By the way, I made it home in record time, 4.5 hours, but I was greeting with a horrific sight as I pulled into my driveway! It looks like I have a lot of work cut out for me this week!

Thank you for this update of this past weekend. I for sure we be going next year to meet everyone that i've been sharing with over these months. I attended a local cruisin-in that had about 200 cars this weekend and I don't know where all these "Rednecks" come from. Anyway again thanks and looking forward to reading and seeing more pictures from this past weekend. Rango

My first time in this El Camino show and it was GREAT! Not just the cars, the warm welcome and greeting from everybody . Lots of hard work and a good job done by Leo. Gary, Mike, Jim, Ken, and many other worked hard to make a good time for all. thnaks
After two day of searching the grounds for parts ( AC brackets) I was able to talk a vendor in off loading as he was going home ^..^ ,
