has anyone used the accel shorty plugs? for header clearance.

I'm not sure which plugs to go with.

I'm using them in my 283 with good results. I'm also running a new Accel billet HEI distributor in it and just changed the plugs over to run that set-up. I've been running the Accel plugs since the mid 70's and have never had a problem with them holding up. IMO an all around good plug.

I have had good success with the Accel shorty header plugs, lasted well over 20,000 miles on my last set. I recommend them over others, always with headers. Shortys keep the plug wire farther away from the hot header which saves your wires.

I litterally just installed them in my 350. The car is apart, but once I get the engine running again, I'll tell you how I like them. Everything looked good except how the metal piece you gap isn't perpendicular to the electrode. I hear that they're supposed to be or the engine runs rough. Like I said, I'll let you know. :-D

I run one in the #4 cylinder because of header clearance, it does fine at least as well as the other 7 which are autolites. I don't run em in all 8 because their spendy little buggers.

I got my car back together and took it for a drive 2 days ago. The spark plugs seemed fine and there is a little more clearance so if you want them, get them. I can't complain.

I run the shorties in my Elky and they have never given me any problems.
