Brought home a 350? or at least that's what the guy told me. The casting number is not legible only parts of it are. 14???2?7 and I narrowed this down to 2 different 350's from the casting number list at Mortec. 14079287 or 14010207. The 207 number says it's a 350, 80-85 2 or 4 bolt main, the 287 says it's a 350, 86-90 truck motor no info on 2 or 4 bolt main. The problem I have is that the dip stick in on the passengers side of the block, really not sure about this. I have other casting numbers as follows. One each side of the block is cast CFD 207, intake is 4 bbl # 346250, Qjet carb # 17085226 2904HLY, On the front pad is stamped V0208FMF under that is CFF 151250, in the bellhousing area is cast H44 and 201207. Supposedly the guy who sold it to him for his chevy truck told him it was a 350. For 50 bucks I figured I couldn't go wrong, got the whole motor minus starter and distributor. I was already offered 50 bucks for the carb and intake. Even if it is a 2 bolt main it would be better than the 283 I have in my '66 now. The guy told me it started backfiring and his friend told him it had a worn cam lobe... it could be anything, stuck valve, bent pushrod, timing out, etc.
